Description
Three pieces for three harps – all harps, lever changes are noted.
Rotation is based on a J.S. Bach piece and a traditional melody. In this arrangement the first and third harp part rotate the melody an octave apart while the second harp part plays accompaniment as well as melody. There are chromatic changes in the arrangement, but ample time is given so that the parts can be played by lever as well as pedal harp. Performance time for Rotation is three and a half minutes.
Traveling is based on an old Italian song by Salvatore Rosa, Vado ben spesso cangiando loco. In this song we have the idea of movement or traveling from place to place with dotted eighth note rhythmic patterns. There are chromatic changes in the arrangement, but ample time is given so that the parts can be played by lever as well as pedal harp. Performance time for Traveling is three minutes.
Wisdom is based on harmonies by G.F. Handel. In this slow meditative piece, a lovely melody shared between the parts soars over continuous arpeggios. There are chromatic changes in the arrangement, but ample time is given so that the parts can be played by lever as well as pedal harp. Performance time for Wisdom is three and a half minutes.
