Description
This easy intermediate piece is good practice for placing cleanly, making an even tone on each string whether you are playing lower on the strings or in the middle, sliding thumbs on 5 note patterns and controlling the tempo. The arrangement begins in the lower range of the harp to establish the ambiance of what the stable might have sounded like. The melody is shared equally between both parts. Each verse is separated by an interlude. On the last verse, the piece ends with a Picardy Third in First Harp.
The Medieval French melody has two well-known carol names: Le Sommeil de L’Enfant Jesus (The Sleep of the Child Jesus) and Entre Le Boeuf Et lL’ane Gris (Oxen and Sheep).
