Description
This piece fits the timbre of the harp so well. The interplay of motifs, the delicacy and flow, and last but not least, Ravel’s marvelous job of giving the harp a prominent role all contribute to that fact. And speaking of the original harp part, attempts were made to preserve it intact. You will find it sometimes in Harp 1, other times in Harp 2. This
is a difficult piece, but well worth the effort for ensemble and audience. Lever Harp sets the 2nd and 3rd C-sharps and the 5th F-natural before the piece starts. Included are score, three separate parts, an optional pedal harp edit of the lever part, and performance notes.
