Description
From the arranger:
“This beautiful tune is a traditional song from the Hebrides. It was notated in the early twentieth century by the musicologist and pianist Marjory Kennedy-Fraser, who collected and preserved many traditional songs from this region.”
Part 1 (4 pages) of this piece features some octaves in the LH and a single-note RH melody with extensive fingerings. Instructions for the unique whale sounds in the introduction appear in the part. Part 2 (4 pages) is intermediate level and has running eighth notes arpeggios split between the hands. Suggested improvisations for the final section are included at the end of Harp 2. A score (8 pages) is also included along with an extra (1/2 page) optional free introduction for Harp 2 (during the beginning whale sounds).
