Description
From the arranger (regarding the first piece in this book):
“Another one of those beautiful, melancholy songs of homesickness for the beautiful land of Ireland. I arranged this with lots of dramatic rising chord runs which symbolize the waves crashing against the rocky shore.”
Colorful rolled chords, lots of dotted eighth rhythms, and full harp arpeggios feature in these arrangements of familiar and traditional tunes. Directions for an ensemble playing of “Baloo Baleerie” and “Lord Galway’s Lament” included along with some lyrics. “The Last Rose of Summer” is in two keys to accommodate a high or low voice should the harpist choose to sing along. ALL HARPS, INTERMEDIATE.
Recordings of the pieces in this book (and others by the arranger) can be found linked on this spreadsheet.
