Description
This arrangement of the well-loved hymn tune, “Forest Green” has a great deal of flexibility since it can be played as a three-part (lever or pedal) harp ensemble piece or an ensemble of two harp parts and a bell choir. It can also include an optional C or Bb instrument. Since the tune is used for the hymns, “O Little Town of Bethlehem”, “I Sing the Almighty Power of God”, and “Eternal God, Whose Power Upholds”, this arrangement can be used anytime of the year. Harp I has a lot of descending arpeggios. The melody is passed between the three harp parts. The melody is also doubled with the optional instrumental part. The three-octave handbell part (with optional C3, F3, and G3) is a transcription of Harp III. The striking of bells with mallets in various places against the plucking of the harp strings makes for a unique sound. With purchase of this arrangement sufficient bell scores may be reproduced for the bell choir. All parts are very accessible. The arrangement is in the key of C major and can be mastered in a short period of time.
