Description
This exciting arrangement combines two pieces: Ángel Villoldo’s “El Choclo” and Issac Albéniz’s “Tango.” “El Choclo” bookends the ensemble work with its fast tempo, syncopated beat, and triadic harmonies. The melody is woven between harps 1 and 4 so that it sounds as if one player is doing all of it but enables the parts to be appropriately workable on the instrument. “Tango” is sultry with its slower tempo and constant duple/triple tradeoffs in the melody and harmony. The typical dotted eighth rhythms feature in the accompaniment, and grace notes abound. A true show-stopper perfect for any ensemble recital!
Included are a full score and four separate parts. No pedal changes are marked in either the score or the parts. PEDAL HARPS, LATE INTERMEDIATE/EARLY ADVANCED.
