Description
This unique collection from well-known harpist Felice Pomeranz features 24 contemporary performance-ready etudes for lever* and pedal players with intermediate to advanced capability. The etudes span a variety of difficulty levels and help you master and apply a variety of contemporary practices. Topics covered include: Contemporary scales, harmonies, and progressions * Rhythm practices, such as multi-meters and swing vs. straight feels * Hand independence and stamina * Improvisation skills, comping patterns, and bass lines * Muffling, slides, and articulations * Timbral effects, such as the splat, xylophonic effects, gong, and slap bass sounds. These etudes have been contributed to this book by 14 harpists, some of the graduates of Berklee, and all known for their teaching and playing. For lever and pedal harp.
*Although the book clearly states on the cover that it is for lever harp, lever harpists will have to leave out a lot of notes in order to play these etudes. So I would recommend this for pedal harpists. Take a look at the samples and decide for yourself.
