Description
This three-part harp rendition of the much-loved spiritual, “Deep River” would make a great addition to your ensemble repertoire. Harp I for pedal harp has many arpeggios and glissandos simulating a rolling river. Harp II for lever or pedal harp enhances the melodic line with harmonics and often there is the presence of duplets against the triplet arpeggios of Harp I. Harp II fluctuates between chord support, playing the melody and ornamentation with a contrasting line. Much of optional Harp III for lever of pedal harp consists of chords to provide a foundation for the more active parts of Harps I and II. Occasionally, Harp III has the melody. The composition is in F major and ends with fading glissandos and arpeggios simulating a river flowing off in the distance.
