Description
This Advent hymn in F minor musically symbolizes the quiet darkness as Christians await the birth of the Christ Child. There is an ostinato bass line which acts as a ground bass. There are harmonics in both the left and right hands, and a glissando.
The music is attributed to Elkhanah Kelsay Dare (1782-1826), a New England Methodist Minister and an early American composer.
