Description
Since 1929 this book has been a standard method book for pedal harp students of all methods of playing. Contains fundamental pedal harp exercises with illustrations and technical explanations. The book includes 15 “preludes for beginners”**, each written in a different key to familiarize the player with the manner of key formation on the harp. Pedals are used extensively to avoid harmonic monotony and give beginners the opportunity to become acquainted at once with pedal usage. ** These compositions are of the utmost difficulty and not by any means for beginners. They contain all of the Salzedo special effects along with their corresponding symbols. Thus, this book is categorized in “reference”, “solo” and “techniques” but not in “method”. Contains the famous Chanson dans la nuit and Le Desirade.
