Description
Four pedal harps, advanced, with pedal slides, muffle technique. Requires really good technique! Performance notes state: Written in 1899, Maple Leaf Rag is perhaps the most popular rag written by Scott Joplin. Scott Joplin
indicated that his rags should be played “not too fast,” and his tempo marking “Tempo di marcia” also
reflects this. Keep the playing light and airy throughout. The sixteenth notes should be played straight
(not swung), although several prominent jazz musicians on the East coast were known for swinging the
sixteenths notes in piano rags after Scott Joplin’s time.
Includes score and 4 parts.
