For full range lever harp, these tunes are in the keys of C and G. This is a great tribute to these wonderful tunes, many having origins outside of the United States but having been an integral part of our musical heritage. Way to go Mitch.
I love the harmonies and the way these songs are arranged. (Mary) They are interesting and uplifting, with many compositional strategies used throughout. I’d call them intermediate to upper intermediate. This is a long piece of music if played in its entirety, so it can be broken up into three parts. Suite 1: Streets of Laredo, The Water Is Wide, Hop High Ladies; Suite 2: Simple Gifts, Poor Wayfaring Stranger, Barbara Allen; Suite 3: Green Rocky Road, I Ride an Old Paint, Shenandoah. INTERMEDIATE, ALL HARPS.
