INTERMEDIATE, ALL HARPS. A gentle solo written for the annual butterfly release ceremony at the NH Children's Hospital. This powerful event commemorates children who have died due to illness or tragedy. Though the song can be played on lever harp, the key of Db (five flats) and accidentals make it more appropriate for a pedal harp. This music has grace notes and a 16-bar glissando with melody in the bass line. The section starting in measure 56 through 61 is reminiscent of fluttering wings. The ending fades away with a glissando.
INTERMEDIATE, ALL HARPS. Expressive, flowing runs characterize this original piece. It is similar in form and composition to Pratt's "The Little Fountain". An exceptional piece for intermediate pedal or lever harpists with downward and upward running arpeggio patterns. There is a lilting waltz melody in the middle of the piece for a nice contrast. Great for technical study but also works as a showy recital solo!
