Chicago area musician Gail Salvatori has a varied and diverse musical background. As a pianist, violinist, violist and teacher her career is multifaceted. Professionally she has played many orchestral settings including Joffrey Ballet’s Nutcracker, Ballet Chicago Orchestra, Chicago Jazz Philharmonic. She has played on 100’s of TV and radio commercials and CDs, for groups such as Mannheim Steamroller, and played for artists who have performed in Chicago, such as Frank Sinatra, Jr., Ray Charles, and Tony Bennet. As an educator, both in private studio settings and school orchestra, she was prompted to explore arranging music to meet the needs of her students. Her Christmas Meditations were the first of these efforts, followed by a series of Lenten Meditations and recently, her collection of Hymns, American Folk Songs, and Spirituals. Life is full indeed, with grown daughters and grandchildren who continually bring joy and inspiration to her life. Below enjoy a video of Gail Salvatori and Barbara Fackler playing Infant Lowly.
