Description
From the arranger:
“The pieces in this collection have no relationship to one another other than their authorship: they are simply ones that I very much enjoy playing. (Strictly speaking, the first piece, ‘Carolan’s Dream’, is almost certainly not actually by O’Carolan but by an earlier harper, William Connellan, but O’Carolan was said to have been so enamoured of the piece that he said would have given up all of his compositions just to have composed this one melody, so it is included here because of its long association with him!). They are arranged in approximate order of playing level.
“All dynamics and speed indications are editorial: feel free to either play these pieces exactly as written – or if you prefer you can completely ignore my suggestions and simply use them use them as a basis for your own arrangements!
“Whether you’re a seasoned player looking for some new ideas, or whether you’re new to the music of O’Carolan, I hope very much that you find as much beauty in these tunes as I do!”
