Description
Showing Handel’s adept use of melody, rhythm and sensitivity, the Pastoral Symphony from his most beloved oratorio, “Messiah,” and the Concerto in Bb from his equally famous Concertos are presented here for solo harp. The arrangements feature dotted rhythms and sixteenth notes in a 12/8 time signature and three-note rolled chords with counterpoint. The concerto theme is often cited by audiences as being very upbeat and cheering, so background and therapy musicians will welcome this arrangement as a shorter more accessible version of the advanced original.
The difficulty level is intermediate. There are several lever (pedal) changes in the Pastoral Symphony. In the key of C major, the pieces are a total of 6 pages long.
