Description
Plyve Kacha Po Tysyni translates “the duckling swims down the Tysyni river.” This traditional old Ukrainian folk song is a warning of the dangers of war. The lyrics are a conversation between a mother and her son which you hear in the arrangement as the melody shifts between the right and left hands. This farewell song in D minor (1-flat) utilizes rolled chords, glissandi, occasional left- and right-hand harmonics, and arpeggios. Chord symbols and historical background are provided.
