Description
This wonderful Shaker hymn by Joseph Brackett, Jr. has been used in many arrangements such as Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring. It is also often associated with Thanksgiving but is suitable any time of the year. The introduction has both hands playing the opening motif in unison. There are a few 2/4 measures that transition between sections. A key change on the bottom of page two is easily accessed since there is a whole note in the bass and no notes for left hand in the next measure. This marks a more interesting passage technique-wise, glissando, triple rhythms, and 8va, though not difficult. Eighth note runs and a few harmonics round out the ending. Jill Justice has arranged this for both pedal and lever harp. This is the pedal harp version which has key changes and is more flourishing that the lever harp version.
