PROGRAM NOTES by the composer
Rodolphus Agricola said “ut doceat, ut moveat, ut delectet”: ‘make it teach, move the heart, and please’. That is what I seek to do with my songs.
This lullabye teaches you the names of the planets in our Solar System (in order, from the closest to the sun to the farthest). It also expresses, in words and music, a parent’s deep love for his or her child; cherishing the moments while they are close together, while poignantly looking ahead to the future when they may be far apart.
May it touch your heart and the hearts of those with whom you share it.
