Description
Twenty six Yuletide carols from Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Cornwall, and Brittany arranged for harp by Thom Dutton with additional arrangements by RoJean Loucks, Jennifer Pratt-Walter, and Darhon Rees-Rohrbacher. Three of the arrangements are for self-accompanied singing. Among the tunes from Scotland are Hark the Bonny Christ Church Bells, Taladh Chriosta, Suid Leinibh, and Duan Nollaig. From Ireland are Wexford Carol, Oiche Nollaig, Tra Va Ruggit Creest, and Wren Song. From Cornwall are Sans Day Carol, and and Righteous Joseph. Breton tunes include Chant de Noel, and from Welsh tunes are Gower Wassail, Please to See the King, Nos Galan, and O Deued Pob Cristion. The arrangements in this collection employ the keys of C, G, D, and F and require a 4-octave range. Lever changes are included. Fingerings and dynamics are also indicated, but only as suggestions. There is historical information on some of the carols. If you want to expand your Christmas repertoire to include unusual and beautiful songs arranged very well, then this is the book for you.
