Description
Purchased new in 2000, this single owner Venus Prodigy model was played extensively throughout high school by a very dedicated harpist. After graduation, that dedication was redirected to college (nursing degree) followed with career, husband and children. Under these circumstances, the harp was returned to mom’s house where it has remained since. Hoping one of the new grand kids might take an interest in playing, mom had the harp regulated every 2 to 3 years. The last time was February 2022 where master regulator Peter Wiley noted “Harp in good structural and mechanical condition”. Resigned that a family member will not be taking up harp, Melody’s now has an amazing package available for the next aspiring harpist ready to move to a pedal harp!
The main component is the harp of course. The Prodigy’s 44 strings range from 1st Octave E through 7th Octave D – slightly smaller than a concert grand, making it a little easier to transport. Speaking of transporting, not only is a dolly included but also a 4″ thick foam pad (39″ x 76″) and standard Venus cover (not pictured) perfect for protecting while moving in your harpmobile (harpmobile not included…)
Proper playing height is easy with the adjustable matching walnut swivel stool. Keep it in tune with the back mounted holster/tuning key (plus 4 spare keys), electronic tuner w/clip (or use the Schaller pickup for tuning or amplification). Need music? A massive library of harp music and method books is part of the package – and a K&M heavy duty wire music stand. This package is everything a harpist on the go needs for practicing or playing freelance parties and weddings. Or – this package is everything a student could ask for, including a significant library of music. An almost complete emergency nylon set of strings is also included. We recommend the new owner plans for a full string change soon. An outstanding package!
