Description
A cherished collection of material for gifted harpists. In this edition, McDonald and Wood have given suggested fingerings and ossias for some of the large stretches. The ossias are taken from the first edition of Dussek’s Six Sonatinas, published in London, before they were further revised and re-published in Prague. The quality of the sonatinas is preserved well in this edition. Well edited, easy to read, many suggested fingerings and phrasing, clearly written ornamentation, nicely typeset.
From Mary: the difficult LH root/fifth/tenth passages are now nicely root/third/fith, making these pieces more playable for advanced younger players with smaller hands and less experience. Octave passages are now single notes, as shown in the second sample.
