Description
The Musician’s Practice Planner is a weekly lesson planner for music students and professionals. We first learned about it from Cynthia Cathcart, who uses it for herself and her students. It helps you to keep your goals in focus therefore attaining them. I used this book when preparing to teach at Beginning in the Middle and it helped me keep on track and accomplish all my performance, teaching and personal goals for that event. It is basically set up like a weekly calendar with sections for repertoire, etudes and exercises, scales and warm-ups, each with specific goals that you write down. Practice priorities, “metronome markings”, “time spent” and “total practice time” are other important items to fill in. There is a section for special notes for the week. It’s like a diary and if used correctly (if you write in it ) you will be able to track and see results.
