Description
Albert Roussel – French composer b. 1869 d. 1937. His main interest was mathematics, and he had also prepared for a career in the navy. After WWI, where he drove ambulance on the Western Front, he moved no Normandy and devoted time to composition. His music has strong rhythmic drive and a more traditional tonality than his contemporaries Debussy, Ravel, Satie and Stravinsky. He wrote music for piano, voice, ballet orchestra, symphonies, cello, and chamber music. He liked jazz. This piece is for advanced pedal harp.
